“Dream Catcher” what a nice screen name to write, thats what I felt when I came across this on my blogger friend Shreyasi’s website, and I followed the link to find “Manic me“, and have been reading the blog ever since. She has tagged me to the writing meme. For a blogger, Thanks Dream catcher for the honor.
I started writing when I was in a bad shape of mind, I needed something to kill time, because I was not finding anything better to do, seriously I had absolutely nothing to do in weekends when I stayed alone. Since I could not crib to anyone in person, I started cribbing over here. Then when I was back to Bangalore I stopped writing totally, until one fine day thought of writing a small piece. Over that week, I came across so many ideas that I thought can easily go into my blog. Yes the possessiveness easily comes to me. So began Virtual Ramblings.
I also realized the pleasure of reading others, as I normally say I always have an opinion and kind of comment on most of the stuff I read, so friends started dropping into my blog. and what followed was amazing. I just the love the discussion out here in the blog world, I think I would stop writing the day the discussion stops.
I feel there are two kinds of writers, people who are literary literate, and have an awesome writing sense, and others who prefer the emotions behind the piece, do not care much about the grammar/words used, I guess I belong to the later. Not that I don’t care about the writing part, just that I don’t think I have that kind of a vocabulary nor strong hold on the language.
So here goes five reasons I write.
- I generally have nothing else to do all day, whenever my mind has a breather I kind of drift into some topic which I might have read recently, or spoken to someone about, or someone has brought up and I found it interesting, so what do I do with all those thoughts?, they go in here.
- I don’t enjoy discussing those thoughts with people, mostly because not many are interested, not many want to talk about relocation, or attraction or any topic I chose, or may be in the wrong company who don’t care. The only other way of discussing them is here. with you guys
- When I was in school I used to write poetry in my native language, and essay writing was also one of my favorites, so kind of makes me go back to that, so enjoy all the prompts out there which makes me write. Whatever I write I assume its poetry so they too go into my blog.
- People, one great thing blogs have given me, I like the different people I have known over years, some have become real good friend, some have moved on, and some are on the way to become good friends.
- I can write anonymously, so I need not wear by Iron Mask at all, I need not live to up any expectations, nor I need to keep my image intact, here I am “Rambler” no ones son, no ones friend, no ones relative, no ones anything. Just anon writer.
I need to tag people, I generally don’t enjoy this part.
Lets see I would have loved to tag Shefaly, because I think she does give so much importance to writing, I almost am in awe of her. And so does Shreyasi’s 55 charmers, I cant think anybody can come even close to her when it comes to this genre.
Preeti, I recently discovered her blog, I guess I see a lot emotions in what she writes, I just came across her blog couple of days back, so I am not sure if she would take up the tag. Did I say she has an awesome name for her blog “White Window”
Anju, I have been reading her from long long time, its just that people here might not know her as she hardly comments, but then I like the way she writes, and the topic she chooses, and I am also curious to know her take on this writing,
She is someone I assume who to be very young, [yep I am not the youngest you know
], she does have a nice choice of words and does write very well
Lea, Here is one more of my newer blogger friends, I came across her poetry at writer’s island, here it was the post which I read “Renewal ~ Writers Island“, I was just bowled over by her writing, there is something which attracts me to them, so have been reading her since then. Again I am not sure If she would do tags.

i’m probably the same when it comes to discussing my thoughts with people. i fail miserably at that. that’s why i rather put things on paper (electronic paper?) because it’s easier that way.

Why surprised?
I read a lot of stuff online and offline, and yes I read rather fast but I rarely miss things.
If it is worth doing, it is worth doing well. That is it. I read very few people’s blogs and I do not have them all blog-rolled either. But I rarely lurk and I always give my opinions (which of course you know) as far as possible, with clear justifications based on data and evidence as well as experience.
I hope not to disappoint.

You clearly hold the love of words and writing deep within you, Rambler, and that’s a wonderful gift to have and to share.

Thank you Rambler!!! You do know me well in this short period of time!!! I’ve answered your tag… but… you’ll see when you read what I wrote!
I am very touched to have you honor my writing in this way. For I am touched and in awe of your writing, and these connections that form over the ethers, time, and space!
And I am so glad that you found expression in this way… that those times of when your mind was hurting, that the words came and you are here now… It makes all the difference…
