Laying on the bed,
Watching the roof,
Hoping there was none,
Imagining the clouds above.
Tried to look beyond,
Deep into the sky.
Trying not to stop at the body,
Trying to look beyond,
To reach the soul.
Getting into bed,
Off go the clothes,
Along with it, the masks too,
Just truth, that’s what is left,
With worries, problems and reality,
Happiness, Incidents and Wonderful memories too,
But to top it all the calmness,
Away from the mad rush,
Away from the watching eyes,
Away from crowd,
Pure piece it is.
Precious little time on my bed.
Waking up almost at the dawn,
With that hidden twinkle in the eye,
With precious peace still in mind,
Looking at the world, with all sweetness.
Thinking of all good possibilities,
Hoping for an incredible day,
Filled with loved ones, and more
With loads of dreams.
And prospects of a even better reality.
Yet again,
Laying on the bed,
Watching the roof,
Hoping there was none,
Imagining the clouds above.
Tried to look beyond,
Deep into the sky.
Trying not to stop at the body,
Trying to look beyond,
To reach the soul.
This to go with a post I had written long time back titled “bed share story“

The prompt today over at Totally optional prompts is “Use of places in poetry” and
As I have been on bed for most part of afternoon, today the topic I chose was “bed”, hope it makes some sense.
On other news, due to the hopeless flu that I have contacted, I might be a lot slow in reading and writing posts and comments.

That was beautiful, Rambler – I love the imagery of looking past the roof, through the sky to beyond.
Now, talking of taking off masks… I’ve tagged you for a meme

Sorry to hear the flu has flattened you. Get well soon! Phrases in the poem deserve to be read again and again.

Yeah, my favorite place, but little time spent there these days – I too try to escape through the roof – it takes a lot of imagination.

bless the person who invented the bed! I really liked the way this poem laid itself down on the paper

wow, this is very nice. I always enjoy writing that takes the everyday and goes further or even magical with it.
