Why wait.??

January 7, 2008 at 9:51 pm | In poésie | 26 Comments

Layers of sheets on my face,
I close my eyes,
squeezing the eye lids tight,
Amidst the random patterns,
I see a ray of light,
Almost an edge, a horizon.

Curious I am,
To see the other side,
To look beyond,
To explore the unknown.
To experience what lies over the horizon

I see smiling faces,
I see fresh thoughts,
I see tough decisions,
I see more and more trust,
I see people willing to help.
I see people at peace.

A voice wakes me up,
It wants to say something,
It wants to wake me up,
Stupid me, taking time to realize,
All it wanted to say,
Why wait for the Horizon?.

Prompt this week over at writer’s island is “horizon”, I had tough time coming up with things of hope beyond the horizon, every time I thought of something, I thought it can be done now, it can be found not, people can become now. Thats when I decided with “why wait for the horizon” theme.

  16. Isn’t it the truth, that all too often we put things off? Whether looking at random patterns through the sheets or starting a project to fulfill a goal – too often we procrastinate, searching for a sign that the time is right. When in fact, we just have to begin.

I always do the mistake of putting off things and then blaming it on something, which has not yet happened. so why wait, why not begin :)

  17. Yes. Why wait indeed, when we can build that better world ourselves.
