Harmlessness

Standard

When someone feels safe with you, or around you, does it mean that “someone” considers you harmless.?

now let me add a little something to the above question.

When someone feels safe with you, or around you, does it mean that “someone” considers you harmless.? or does it mean that “someone” considers you not capable of doing any harm.

  1. I guess ‘safe’, which you are talking about and ‘harmless’ are two opposite tracks which are bridged by ‘trust’.
I will love to hear your views on this! Intersting…….

  2. that got me thinking.
I think they trust you enough not to harm them knowing you can harm them and the others. which makes you kinda harmful and cpable of doing harm, I guess.

  3. People..this was not about me..it was just a thought about an hypothetical “you”

Neilina..very interesting theory..it would be fun to read more..perhaps a post by you on the topic?

Suraksha..you answered an question I didn’t put here, and which was there on my mind..is this a good thing ๐Ÿ™‚

    Meena…hmm..not to harm…so capable, but you won’t?

    Autumn..loved your answer ๐Ÿ™‚

suma.. “them” is collective term btw lol..
regarding who is feeling safe, I guess its the one who is comfortable with “you” ๐Ÿ™‚

    Kavya..welcome here
    Totally confused lol ๐Ÿ™‚

    Priya..so does that mean harmless?

    BB..aha nice interpretation

  4. it means they are comfortable with you (whoever the “you” happens to be), they are happy in your company, they trust you – and they don’t expect you to harm them. That doesn’t mean that “you” would be harmless and incapable of harming someone else. The perception is “theirs”, the reality is “yours” and the question focuses on perception and perspective, not on truth per se.
    Howzat for an answer?! ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. no, i don’t think it means ‘harmless’ as such.. its more a matter of trust.. when A is comfortable with B, in my eyes, A feels that B would not hurt A at any point of time, or allow others to hurt A. that does not mean that B would not hurt others, or is totally incapable of harm, IMHO..
