Destined homes

Standard

Have you ever seen a person, who after years living at a place moves to a different place, extremely alien to his/her habitat, and just gels with it. Its as though he was born to be in that place, and finally he has reached his destination, rather, his home.

I am definitely not talking about myself here.

I have seen couple of people who have changed so drastically with new places, and got in terms with the changes so well that, you look at them, after a gap of years, and mentally compare them with the person you know, and you kind of have a feeling, what was this person doing back then, he is so much more of a personality he was cut out to be, in this new place.

I have also seen people who cannot buy the fact, the other person is happy. I mean so what if he or she does not remain the same person, so what if he/she is no longer what you consider is best for him. Its finally his/her life and they are enjoying it in a way, probably they wanted to all their life, and just weren’t at the right place for it.

Thinking ofΒ  the subject, reminds me of this song “home” by Foo Fighters.

P.S People I have finally done it, I have gone back to where I began from. Only people who seem to be reading me these days are the ones who land up here looking for something via the search engines, just the way it was when virtual ramblings began. I seem to have driven all my readers away.

  1. You haven’t driven me away πŸ™‚ You’d have to try alot harder ; )

Could it be that some people are like chameleons? They kind of adapt to their surroundings well?

    • Molly believe me, i am not that far from that πŸ˜€

No its not aboue chameleons, its like they appear to be kangaroos in australia, who when they reach the deserts realize they have been camels all their life

  2. Hey,
I know exactly what you mean when you say that you seem to have driven all your readers away. Same with me. Only friends whom I bug incessantly seem to read my blog these days. And of course you. πŸ™‚
I just wanted to let you know that you aren’t entirely true about driving all your readers away. Je suis la. πŸ˜€

And I know – I feel furiously jealous of people who can go anywhere and just fit in. It takes me aeons to fit in.

    • hehhe, the observation was based on the blog stats provided by wordpress.

btw its not about people who can settle in everywhere, its about people who finally reach a place where they can be themselves

  3. come on..its not that…i’ve read every post but i’m guilty of not commenting on every…vacations on and all that which goes with it makes blog reading quite time consuming πŸ™‚

  4. Dear Rambler,
    Oh!
    Sorry I misunderstood that.
Now that I read it again, I feel rather stupid. πŸ˜€
Anyway, sometimes, I feel that there are so many different ‘me’s that I don’t even know which one is the real me.

  5. And why would you overlook us I ask as I raise my hand to show my attendance πŸ™‚
When it comes to adaptation of people, I also am wondering if they may have changed even if they had stayed in the old place…is it possible that the change may have happened anyway and was only more evident in a new surrounding?

    • CR…ah how can I overlook these thoughts..”change may have happened anyway”, never thought of it that way, now that you mention it, eventually it might have ended and may be the place acted like a catalyst..but still its more to do with the place i guess

  6. I know this. Cos I have become what I always wanted to (well..almost) but I couldn’t before….and nobody liked it….not even my best friends….but then this me is making me happy…and I am just waiting for everyone to make peace with it….I know what you mean..cos I am a living example of it πŸ™‚

Great post….and I am sure your readers are not going anywhere…so stop emotionally blackmailing everyone into reading your blogs… πŸ˜›
    Just kidding!

    • I am sorry if it appeared like a blackmail, it was not meant that way..see I have see people like this and am really furious at people who are jealous of such people or make comments against them
